Clinimetrics: Building the right infrastructure for a growning CRO
Clinimetrics, a division of Omnicare, Inc., is a full service Contract Research Organization, headquartered in San Jose, CA, and committed to providing a hiqh quality service in the biopharmaceutical and medical device industry. As well, Clinimetrics recognizes the increasing shift toward remote-based technology and as a result, has committed to utilizing Oracle's Life Sciences suite of products, including Oracle Clinical (OC), Adverse Event Reporting System (AERS), Thesaurus Management System (TMS) and Remote Data Capture (RDC).
In fact, Clinimetrics was able to implement these systems by partnering with BioPharm and utilizing their validation packages and Help Desk support. To date, Clinimetrics has seen the percentage of data management work employing electronic data capture (EDC) grow to almost 50% over the past several years, representing an even split between paper-based and RDC-based studies. Further, it is Clinimetrics' intention to not only further promote the use of EDC vs. paper technology to its clients but also to grow its overall market share in the highly competitive data management arena.
Clinimetrics wishes to acknowledge the important role that BioPharm has played in validating each of these Oracle systems over the past several years. For example, both AERS and TMS were validated using BioPharm's scripts allowing Clinimetrics to effectively manage concomitant medication and adverse event data classification, and further performing upversioning every six months to coincide with the release of new versions of MedDRA.
